Delight Yourself In The Lord

Psalm 37:4~ "Delight Yourself In The Lord and He will Give You The Desires Of Your Heart."

This week on the Jesus, Joy and Java podcast we will be looking at Psalm 37:4 

I will explain why this is my favorite verse and what it means to "Delight in the Lord". It took me a long time to figure out that I was delighting in the wrong things. It was not until I started to delight in the eternal things of God that my desires started to line up to His. 

Matthew 6:33 tells us, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”  

We will never find fulfillment in things of this world. Let’s keep our focus on what pleases God, He knows our heart, remember He is All Knowing. Let’s Allow Him to transform our hearts and ours desires and He will always provide above and beyond what we can ever imagine. 

In John 4:14 Jesus says: “Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life”

If we want God to give us the desires of our hearts, we must first make Him the ONLY desire of our heart.
